|Robert G. McKinley, 67, of Westmoreland City, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, in his home. He was born July 10, 1946, in Hancock, Md., son of Goldie H. Kline McKinley, of Needmore, and the late Walter E. "Bud" McKinley. Prior to his retirement, Bob worked at Allegheny Cleanways, Project Development of Fulton County, Pa., Regional Trail Corporation, and he began his career in the insurance industry. He was a Greengate Mall Santa for several years, and enjoyed his annual Christmas appearance for family and friends. During his life, he was an active member of the Jaycees, the Boy Scouts of America, the Rails-to-Trail Conservancy and the Westmoreland County Beekeepers Association. Bob was the expert family genealogist and an early computer technology adopter. He was a quiet but strong man who was loved by many and will be missed by all. In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy (Jenny) McKinley, his children, Heather M. Grove and her husband, Donald W. Grove III, of Johnson City, Tenn., Robert S. McKinley and his partner, Allison White-McKinley, of Pittsburgh, Kathleen McKinley and her partner, Nathan Botti, of Herminie, and Patrick R. McKinley, of Erie; and six grandchildren, Liam, Gabrielle, Donovann, Anastasia, Duncan and Riley. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. at WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200.
